I like Riza Hawkeye from FMA, just because she's a total badass. Speaking of which, Hinata (Naruto) is pretty awesome, too. I love when she confesses her love for Naruto while beating up Pain! Sure, she gets KO'd, but it was still pretty cool. Temari from Naruto, being the only not-love-interest female without absurd amounts of fanservice in the whole anime, is freaking AWESOME too.

Most likely Maka Albarn from Soul Eater. She wields a scythe and kicks major butt, even with a book! She's definitely my hero.

And Konata from Lucky Star. I don't watch it, but I saw one episode and thought Konata was me in anime form (for the most part anyway). I respect her ability to be athletic and lazy at the same time. I'm just lazy. I fail at sports.

This is a really hard question - I like a lot of different heroines for very different reasons ... Maka and Revy have already been mentioned for their badassitude. Someone should nominate Reki and Rakka (Haibane Renmei), Sarah, Rika, Lain, Mai Tokiha, Ranka and Sheryl ... and a lot of others who are heroines in their own way.

However after a lot of thinking - I vote for Shiina from Narutaru (Anime) for giving her best in such a crapsack world.

Sailor Jupiter. She's strong without sacrificing her femininity, something I always had issues with. I can relate to her wanting to be viewed as a lady, but wants to always be able to defend her friends. She's selfless, powerful, and honest. I would've loved to have considered her a best friend if she were real.

For me it's either Tifa from ff7 or Maka Albarn from Soul Eater. Maka wields a scythe and that's just uber.
