I've been contemplating whether or not to subscribe to an anime magazine, wondering which ones were good and bad. Any ideas?

Newtype USA! It is an AWESOME anime magazine with shonen and shojo sections, manga inserts, a free DVD anime sampler, con reports and cosplay tips and sales! All this EVERY MONTH! It is the bomb!

If your looking for pretty mainstream anime reviews theres always Future Anime (there's also some game reviews in that one) Again, pretty mainstream.

Yen+ for Soul Eater, Jack Frost, and Higurashi

Shonen Jump for Bobobo and Shaman King...though not anymore =_=

And I just read everything else when I'm done with those.

Otaku USA is great :D There's also Yen+ and Shonen Jump if you're looking for manga...

I was at Boarders recently and in the magazine section by the video game genre there were a bunch of otaku-themed magazines, I suggest going there (if you have one near you) to see what they have ^^

I think this is an interesting one, it's an academic resource based site for anime and manga.

If you like the most recent shonen manga then subscribe to shonen jump. A more girly magazine is shojo beat. Too bad anime insider ceased to be published.
