Hello people! I am working on creating a magazine. Not for profit, just to spread some otaku love around. The only problem is, I don't have enough info!! Anything about any anime or manga will do. This includes character profiles, polls, quizzes, cosplay, fanart/fiction, and anything else that has to do with anime, manga, or Japan in general. It is aimed at both boys and girls, and needs to be readable to non-otaku. I'm trying to create the best otaku mag ever! The printing is not a problem. My dads roommate can take care of that at his job. This might never make profit (and if it does without us knowing, I will sue!) but we'll create more otaku and the world will be a better place! So if you have any info, stories, pictures, or anything else, tell me. I'll put your name (user or real) and any other info that you want me to. Also, illustrations in general (like numbers for the corner, page backgrounds, ect.) are welcomed! Thank you for your time!

how about a "Which Otaku are YOU?" Quiz? the results would be Closet Otaku, Hardcore Otaku, and Anti-Otaku. you could also try doing reviews of different anime and video games. 3 weeks, 6 days ago

I hate to say it - but right now print publishing is just about where the horse-and-buggy industry was in 1910. It may not be totally dead yet, but it's certainly on life support. One way or another, print is not something you want to get involved with. OK, so the printing won't cost you anything. How about distribution? How are you going to get it in front of readers? Spend your days trying to work out deals with bookshops? That won't be as easy as you think. Mail order? Maybe, but how will people then even know that it exists? How will you promote it? Buy a table at a con? Put up a website to promote your print magazine? Look, I don't mean to be the guy pissing in your Cheerios here, but there's a reason why print is dying. It's expensive, it's complicated, it's slow, and it's hard to get in front of people's eyes. Honestly, you'd be better off getting a copy of Dreamweaver and spending some time learning how to use it to put together a really nice-looking website. It'll get more readers, it's easier to put together and distribute, and it can be promoted far more easily. Really, that's the way to go. 1 month, 4 weeks ago

My friends and I are planning this out. We'd probably wind up just giving it out to random people. And I'm trying to bring back print, people spend to much time in front of their computers (I'm one to talk) anyway. -

We'd like to talk about hosting an online copy on OtakuPride. Send an e-mail to tom@otakupride.com or we can talk on here if you're interested. 1 month, 4 weeks ago

Uhm... why not just start a website? 1 month, 4 weeks ago

Because I wouldn't get enough hits. I don't have to pay for making the mag, unlike with domain names. -
