Subs or Dubs??

Subs because to me the Japanese voice actors sound a hell of a lot better than the American actors do

I watch the dubs if they are availible but I don't mind subs and if I really like the show, I will watch it again subbed. I just feel like the intense parts are more intense if I know what they are saying instead of reading it.

Subs, mostly because some of the characters voices in the dubs sound annoying -_-'

I've had one bad dub experience and after that I don't even want to bother with dubs anymore unless there is no choice (ie. anime movies shown in theatres). So subs all the way for me.

I,d have to go wit subbed cuz hav u seen YU-GI-OH the subbed in English version is way better than the dubbed in English version. the dubbed YU-GI-OH is jus gay.(to me at least)nd the subbed version has more curse words in lik all the anime. sometimes when the carectors say a curse word it's supposed emphasize the action.

I'll go for the dub first every time if available, and nowadays most are serviceable enough that dub watching isn't some outrageous gamble anymore. But bad dubs still lurk out there, or current season shows don't have them, and subs are fine too.

Nine times out of ten I prefer Subs to Dubs in most of the things I watch. I find that in alot of cases, the English voice actors will overact or exaggerate a bit too much for my taste. Sometimes, however, content is also lost in dubbing. I suppose it really depends, like others said, upon the quality of dubbing. I think I've become something of a purist as a result of all the bad dubs I've seen, and will usually pick up the sub first if it's what I find.

I also find that in some cases Subs are more readily available, especially at cons, than dubs.

During my time watching anime, I usually start out a series watching the subs, but sometimes there are English dubs of anime that seem to honestly blow me away. It all comes down to the acting. When I saw Ouran High School Host Club for the first tme dubbed, I was loving every bit of it. This is a series where I actually prefer the dub over the subs.

But there are bad English dubs out there. I've seen Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni completely in Japanese (English subs, right? I don't know Japanese yet haha) and I loved that series to bits, too. But I checked out the English dub once I found out a dub existed for this series, and I thought it was terrible. I'm not usually hard on dubs, but c'mon! The acting seemed to be so processed, like they were rushing to get out of the recording booth early or something. I actually, physically facepalmed because of it. It worked so much better in Japanese.

In my opinion, its half and half. There are good dubs, and there are bad dubs. Just because a series got dubbed in English does not mean the dubs sucks. It all comes down to the acting.

maybe subs but i keep on losing of what they say and so i want to check some dubs but they dont have im so dubs would be better but cant say anyting its all up to japan if they want subs or dubs

Meh, Alot of shows I watch are either only subbed, or it's horrible in dubed form. I've only seen two animes that had a dubed version I liked

Hmmm. Well, honestly I do prefer subs. However, sometimes I'm far too lazy to read the subtitles and I end up lost, so when that starts to happen I go and find dubs so I can be lazy and just listen. Although, one major advantage of subs(for me personally) is that you don't necessarily need the sound to be on. This is good for me because much of my anime-watching goes on at night and the only computer in my entire house is in my mom's room.

but quality dubs are few and far between.

Also, I like to experience it the way the original creator wanted me to. And too often the english dubs are just not the same.

So for me it's subtitles, every time. If I really like the show I'll watch it again with dubs just out of curiosity

Really depends on the film or show, but lately I've been down with Subs instead of Dubs. Also, a lot of FoxBox stuff really ruined my view of anime when I was older (and no longer an avid watcher).

Changes with time and show, but Subs don't bother me as much. I'd honestly rather listen to the words instead so I can watch the artwork, but I guess I'll sacrifice.
