And don't all say Ocarina of Time just because it is considered the best Zelda game of all time. It's an awesome game and everything but I prefer windwaker just 'cause. Also, Twilight Princcess is pretty excellent.

I absolutely detest the wolf form in Twilight Princess. Also, anyone who has an older sibling that played Ocarina of Time on the N64 (just about everyone, unless you are the older sibling) knows that the Zeldas that were created for the N64 are the heart and the soul of the franchise. As much as I love windwaker, I can't deny that no Zelda after Ocarina of Time has been able to top it. I don't really think there will be a game to top it anytime soon, either. Once gaming got into the era of gamecubes, things changed... something weird happened with the games and it lost something. For all that we've gained in terms of technology, I think the games have lost something in that they were revolutionary, the first of their kind. Now every day someone comes out with an updated version of this or that, but with the N64 it was the first of it's kind, and no one at the time could top the graphics and details of Ocarina of Time. Now, everything is changing so rapidly, the magic of the evolution in games is lost. Before you can even take in the amazing changes the games have undergone, something even "better" comes out trying to top it. Now with all of the super-realistic graphics, people are forgetting the magic of games like Ocarina of Time that revolutionized gaming with their then state of the art graphics and all of the glitches that came with it. Melting into walls and having spazzing camera angles always makes the experience more interesting, I think. 3 years, 11 months ago

Ocarina of Time was the only Zelda game that held my attention and made me want to play through it more than once. The adventure and gameplay was so ridiculously balanced so as not to be too difficult nor too easy. I have played other Zelda games, though none of the handheld ones. I was never a big Zelda platformer to begin with, so the fact that the N64 installments of Zelda gripped me so strongly does say something regarding my favorites. 3 years, 11 months ago

My favorite Zelda game is Ocarina of Time, Followed by Majora's Mask. Those games really gave you a truly complete world to explore and learn about. The other games, given the technology of the time, couldn't hold a story or the quest itself together. It was just pointless wandering. Windwaker was fun at the time, and I love the art style. It really holds up well when compared to the current generation of video game consoles. It really has a beautiful look to it, but suffered greatly from three major flaws: 1) too short 2) Spending too much time on the open seas doing jack crap 3) too easy Everything else can be forgiven, even point 1 and 2, but being too easy is garbage. When I beat the game, my reaction was "... that is it?" There is no excuse for sure an easy game, and compounded by how short it was, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Twilight Princess still hasn't registered with me as a good game. Wolf form was stupid, waggle is a terrible game mechanic, and the 8-bit screechy universe that Midna was from drove me nuts. The only thing I really need to do is go back and play more of the super-hardcore-tower-of-doom because at least there will be a challenge. Nintendo has been suffering from the same problem since GameCube of making their games too easy. Super Mario Galaxy is simple to beat, but to get every Star is a difficult task. I want at least SOME challenge from a Nintendo game, but it always seems optional and out of the way (as well as minimized compared to the overall experience). 3 years, 11 months ago

Problem might not be that the games are too easy; Nintendo games have always been aimed at kids from right when they can read to the mid teenaged years. Maybe we're just growing up, Getting too smart for them. -

I know you don't want me to say it, but Ocarina of Time. I'm sorry but I not just saying because it it considered the best Zelda game of all time. I've played this zelda game ever since I was little and it rocks the house. Such good memories...CHICKENS!!!!! run for your life. I do agree with Kayla though, Wind Waker was another one of my favorites. Wish it was a little longer though. I seriuosly want to try it with the action reply though. Those videos on YouTube look pretty interesting! 3 years, 11 months ago

Windwaker? Longer? Agreed, I'd love to play it more, but WIndwaker is one of the LONGEST Zelda games I've played. You could explore that game for years and always find new things. 3 years, 11 months ago

I've played Ocarina. Windwaker has like 321496234 side quests and things you can do without just following the story line, though. All those islands that you dont need to visit.... Try visiting em. Adds to the gameplay a whole lot. 3 years, 11 months ago

Zelda on the N64 are classics. Highly regarded as the best because they pretty much are. They're accessible by people of all ages (You dont need to be a rocket scientist to figure a boss out), they're fast-paced, and entertaining. I do recommend the handhelds for GameBoy Color as anyone's introduction into the series, however. 3 years, 11 months ago

I'm going to have to say Ocarina of Time. Because honestly, it stands the test of time. It doesn't matter how many times I replay through it, I still enjoy it. I actually dislike Windwaker a lot, I think it's because of the art style honestly. I don't enjoy the cutesy way it is in it. Twilight Princess was a lot of fun too though. It was difficult, I think, but I really love Midna. 3 years, 11 months ago

Midna was pretty cool after a while. Better than NAVI thats for sure. I didn't like her at first though. Zelda started to be getting like Sonic to me at that point: Adding too many characters to make up for a decline of the series. She actually proved herself to be pretty cool but I accepted that there is hope after Ocarina. Windwaker is good at first. After a while though, I concur, the cartoony graphics which may have been a fresh change or somewhat endearing at first got really corny. If I want to fight a GIANT AWESOME BIRD, I don't want it to look like it's out of a Loony Toon. Cartoons have their own place in the world, but it's not in the Zelda series. 3 years, 11 months ago

Oot was truly the best, for it's age, and for people to still know and love it today, it really pushes old school gaming to the limits 3 years, 10 months ago

I haven't been able to get the test rooms OR the super jump to work with my action replay. The only things that do work are the annoyingly useless things like 'automatically have the mirror shield.' And if you like OoT genuinely because it's your favorite game and not just 'cause it's the most epic and well-known of all Zelda games then that's fine. I just hate it when people say "oh, Ocarina of Time is the best!" but they haven't even played it. I suppose the opposite is true for me though... 3 years, 11 months ago

That's one of the things I love about windwaker; You could spend all the time it would take to beat the game just on the sidequests. If you just stick to the storyline, it's a really fast play. I'm re-beating it for fun and each section only takes about 45 minutes. A half hour if you know exactly what you need to do. I'm already up to beating the bird at the Forsaken Fortress and it hasn't taken me very long. 3 years, 11 months ago

Yeah, I'm still pretty interested in playing Oracle of Time and Oracle of seasons, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. Wonder how much they would be if I bought them used at Gamestop... 3 years, 11 months ago
