What is karma?

We don't use the religious idea of karma; on Otaku Pride karma is a measure of your contribution to the community.

As you gain more karma, the site will learn to trust you and you'll be able to do more things:

15 karma	You can vote up replies
50 karma	You can comment on replies
100 karma	You can vote down replies
500 karma	You can retag posts (edit the tags)

How do I get karma?

There are a few ways that you can get or lose karma:

5 karma	Someone responds to your post
10 karma	Someone votes up your response
-5 karma	Someone votes down your response
-1 karma	You voted down someone elses response

What's the deal with voting

Voting is how you tell people you like their response (or that you don't).

How do I change my avatar?

Go to gravatar.com and make an account using the same email address that you registered on Otaku Pride

Why make another anime community site?

I wrote a live journal post on this a while back... I'll move it onto OP soon enough.

What inspired you to make Otaku Pride?

Jeff and Joel of Stack Overflow repeatedly say that Stack Overflow is not designed for discussion. So I wondered, what if Stack Overflow were a discussion site?

And so I began removing the Q&A specific traits and replacing them with ones that encourage a strong community discussion.
